Can you feel the love tonight
For the children I have loved
The ones I have held  in my arms
Feeling their gentle breath upon my cheek

Knowing someday they will grow and fly
With all their love and beauty
Radiating out amongst the world
Knowing I will always feel their happiness

Also feeling their sickness and pain
Realizing their protection is not mine
Knowing that their being watched over
From someone bigger than you and I

But seeing always in my heart of hearts
The tiny loving children I held many times
In my rocking chair of love and care
Feeling the gentle beat of their hearts

Now is a different time and place
Their grown and mostly on their own
But in my heart I will always feel
Their breath softly upon my cheek

Even when God decides to take me home
I know in my heart there will always be the children
That I was blessed to hold in my loving arms
And their gentle breath upon my cheek
